We were recently sent an email by a young man that we thought deserved merit for its originality and adherence to the ideas of Freddie. What these two gentlemen did was a great push forward for each of their personal style, while simultaneously and subliminally encouraging those around them to do the same. These two guys challenged each other to each wear a different, unique tie to work everyday for the month of October, and invited people to vote for the winner through a website they set up, the results being both amusing and refreshingly original.

While it may seem that peacoats have been popular in civilian use since…forever, there’s good reason. Take a look back at some of the world’s bad-ass icons like Dean, Sinatra, and McQueen, and they all have at least one great moment with the navy legend. Like many of fashion’s all stars, the peacoat is simple and plain, but timeless. So take a look at any decent army-navy store, find a real one, and wear it with respect and admiration, not for its great look and warmth, but more so for the men who make it a necessity.
